Neath v Ebbw Vale

Programme Notes – Neath v Ebbw Vale

WP_20151107_16_27_31_ProWe welcome reigning champions Ebbw Vale to the Gnoll today for our second home game of the season.

Despite the mixed fortunes on the field it’s been an encouraging start to the new season for the supporters club with most of last season’s members re-joining and lots of supporters joining for the first time. This meas we’re on course to have more members than ever before.

If you haven’t renewed or joined yet then please come and see us in the clubhouse today. You’ll pay just £10 for the whole season and every penny we make will go back into helping the squad with the purchase of kit and equipment. Working together, we really do make a difference and our members’ efforts are appreciated by the squad.

With such a promising start to the season, we’ll shortly be making our first contribution of the year. Hopefully we’ll have more information on this next week.

Also next week local historian, Bernard Lewis with be launching his book documenting Neath’s record breaking season in 1988/89, a campaign in which the club broke world records for tries and points scored and won the cup, beating Llanelli in a thrilling final. Paul Thorburn, Brian Williams, Kevin Phillips, Lyn Jones, Chris Bridges and a host of other Neath stars feature in the book.

With 88,000 words, 280 pages, and 80 illustrations it will be a must have for any Neath fan. The book will be available to buy direct from Bernard at the supporters club table in the clubhouse at the Cardiff game next Saturday, priced at just £10.
