I’m not sure how many neutrals there were at the Gnoll for the Boxing Day Derby, but they would have thoroughly enjoyed an enthralling game of rugby.

Unfortunately for Neath fans, it was a heartbreaking end to a game, where we finally looked like breaking our loosing streak in the league. Still, it was a draw and the way the team played, with pace and confidence means our first win is surely not too far away. Hopefully that victory will come at today’s game.

One of the most encouraging aspects of Boxing Day’s game was the size of the crowd and the atmosphere it generated. It was the biggest Gnoll crowd for many years, and hopefully the performance against Aberavon will entice many of them to become more regular visitors.

We may now be in the second half of the season, but you can still join the supporters club.
