This Saturday marks the first of two huge games for Neath coming up over the festive period. They could be considered amongst the biggest and most important in the club’s history.
Supporters will need no reminding that we are adrift at the bottom of the table with no wins yet this season. If we win today and in the Boxing Day game against Aberavon then we’ll be right back in contention to stay up. Loose and….well, loosing doesn’t bare thinking about.
It’s not been an easy season for Neath, with defeats on the field and well documented issues off it. Two things are certain though – the commitment of the players is unquestionable and the support of the fans is unwavering. Both will be vital over the next two games and throughout the rest of the season.
Of course, this past week has seen changes to our coaching team. Therefore, it would be remiss of us at this point not to thank our departing coaches Robin Sowden Taylor and Llyr Lane. Despite results not going our way, they’ve put in a lot of hard work and we wish them well in their futures. Also, welcome back to Patrick Horgan. Let’s hope he can bring back some of the legendary Neath fighting spirit and never say die attitude he displayed as a player and in his previous stints as coach.
Supporters club members have been busy ordering items of merchandise from us over the last couple of weeks. Polo shirts, hoodies, mugs and much more have all proved popular. If you have ordered them, then please call to see us in the clubhouse after the game to collect your goods.
Enjoy the game
